Contrary to released schedule for Windows XP SP3 Build 5512 published on MSDN blog, Microsoft has published Windows XP SP3 standalone update installation package to MSDN and TechNet subscribers, as speculated. It’s not sure it’s a change of heart by Microsoft after compliant or it’s actual release timeline that not been made known. Download Availabilty of Windows XP SP3 for MSDN/TechNet Subscribers MAY Bring Forward Earlier

Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) has been announced to be released to manufacturing by Chris Keroack on TechNet forum. And Microsoft subsequently published a detailed Windows XP SP3 release schedule timeline by channel, which showing that availability of service pack download installer for privileged MSDN and TechNet subscribers is scheduled on May 2, 2008, later than general public release via Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center on April 29, 2008.

Windows XP SP3 Finale Version 5.1 Build 5512 RTM

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) final version has been packed, published, and released to manufacturing on April 21, 2008 US time. However, only Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM channel) will have access to the code bits of Windows XP SP3, while general public can starts download from April 29 onwards, as scheduled. Windows XP SP3 has final version of 5.1 and build number 5512 (5.1.2600.5512), a little higher than Windows XP RC2 Refresh (v.5508), but not the speculated build 5573.
