How To Configure Microsoft Outlook To Delete Blank Email Messages Automatically

Many email users surely have experienced receiving spam email messages from unknown senders with the body content is completely blank. These emails do not state the receivers’ name or email addresses, but somehow they reach users’ email accounts. Of course users can remove these blank email messages one by one easily. However, repeatedly doing the same process everyday can be quite frustrated or irritated. This is especially worst when you have many email accounts to manage and the same problem keeps prompting and disturbing you. If you are using Microsoft Outlook, you can actually set a custom rule using the Rules and Alerts wizard in Outlook to instruct Microsoft Outlook delete these received blank emails automatically.

How to Change the Default Setting for Power Button Action in Windows 7

By default, the start menu power button in Windows 7 is set to “Shut Down”. This may be preferred by some users while others may find it inconvenient. For instance, many users have complained about accidentally clicking on the power button and shutting down the computer while it is still in use. If the default setting creates inconvenience to you, reconfiguring the start menu power button action to other preferences, e.g. switch user, log off, lock, restart, sleep or hibernate might help.

How to Remove Recycle Bin Icon in Windows 7

By default, Windows 7 users will notice the Recycle Bin icon appear automatically on the desktop. It allows users to have quick and easy access to the bin to clean/restore files. Having said that, some users might not like the idea and think it is an eyesore. Hence, if users prefer, they can easily hide the Recycle Bin icon from the desktop. With some simple setting, users will be able to remove the Recycle Bin icon from the desktop. However, this approach will not stop the Recycle Bin from functioning or prohibiting other people from access it via the Recycle Bin folder itself.

Easier Way to Edit and Disable Google Buzz

You might get a bit annoyed when you notice the contacts in your Google account automatically set to “follow” status in the new Google Social network, Google Buzz, without your prior consent. You might not want your social circle to be widely exposed or you do not want certain people from your contact list to be included in your social networking. To overcome this problem with Google Buzz, initially users need to go to their Google Profile to make changes on the setting or disable and turn off Google Buzz manually. However, due to technical and security issues , Google’s engineers have made changes and now only allow users to do quick edit and disable Google Buzz through the “Settings” feature in their Gmail.

Quick Remove Hyperlinks From Microsoft Word Documents

On many occasions you might need to extract some articles from web pages, emails and other sources into the Word documents for reference or other purposes. When you copy and paste the articles or paragraphs into the word documents, you will notice that the hyperlinks attached to some words or sentences will be copied and pasted to the word documents as well. These hyperlinks are web links, internal links within the same document or email addresses. Some of these hyperlinks might not be valid or may direct you to irrelevant websites.
