Lock Pages in Memory is a Windows security setting policy that determines which accounts can use a process to keep data in physical memory, which prevents the system from paging the data to virtual memory on disk, directly improves the response time speed of the process, especially data-intensive program such as SQL Server database management system, as access time from RAM is definitely faster than disk I/O.

How to Enable PAE on 32-bit Windows Vista for 4 GB or More Memory

Intel introduced the 36-bit physical addressing mode called PAE (Physical Address Extension, read Wikipedia reference or MSDN reference) since Intel Pentium Pro processor to allow 32-bit operating systems to use more than 4 GB of physical memory. However, even with x86 or x86-x64 PAE supported CPU processor, in most Windows system, PAE is disabled by default, and user has to manually turn on the PAE support in operating system in order to recognize and use more than 4 GB of physical RAM memory, with the exception of Windows Vista.

It’s possible to completely turn off and disable UAC (User Account Control, commonly misspelled as User Access Control) in Windows Vista, or make it elevate to highest privileges automatically and silently without user noticing whenever such administrator’s level privileges are required and requested. Windows Mobile Device Cannot Connect (or Quickly Disconnect or Drop) and Not Sync with Vista WMDC (ActiveSync)

Whenever user connect a Windows Mobile device to Windows Vista Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) via a USB cable, WMDC fails to connect to the Pocket PC (PPC) Phone device, causing synchronization not start or fail. Sometimes, WMDC may tries to connect to mobile device with “Connecting” message for a while, but eventually fails with “Disconnected” message. In some worse case, Windows Vista doesn’t detect any Windows Mobile device been connected, and no response or connect attempt action in WMDC.

Upload Feature Inhibited Error When Adding Files or Images in ModX

When trying to upload files, images or photos using the built-in file uploading utility in ModX Manage Files page, tinyMCE or FCKeditor (FCK) Resource Browser, the following error message may appear and uploading fails.

Upload feature inhibited – make sure uploads are supported and the directory is writable for PHP.

Failed to upload file, internal error.
