Windows 10 November Update Build 10586 – What’s New, Improved, Fixed, and Known issues (How PC getting the Windows 10 November Update without Stuck)

After three months since the general availability of Windows 10, Microsoft has officially launched the Windows 10 November Update with build 10586 to all PC users of the operating system. Include latest Build 10586, Microsoft has totally rolled out six Windows 10 Insider Preview builds since July 29, 2015. The Windows 10 November Update includes a lot of new features, improvements, changes, and fix that makes the operating system overall more stable and smoother.

Among many of the changes and improvements, the Build 10586 comes with updated context menus throughout the operating system, including redesigned Power User, Taskbar, and Desktop context menus. Besides that, the Build 10586 also updated Memory Manager that has a new feature called compression store where unused pages will be compressed in memory when memory is needed instead of writing to disk.

• Cortana now works for local user accounts as well
• Lots of UI changes such as modified context menus in Start, Taskbar and new icons

Here what’s fix in Windows 10 November Update Build 10586:

• The issue where any audio playing (like music from Groove, or videos from the Movies & TV app) gets reduced by 75% for a period of time after a notification pops up from Action Center is fixed.
• Pressing the power button on your Surface Pro 3 should put your Surface Pro 3 to sleep instead of shutting it down.
• We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.
• Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN – it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.
• We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.
• Small form-factor devices, like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, that boot with rotation or virtual mode screen size set larger than the physical screen size should no longer experience a bluescreen on upgrade.
• Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.

Here what’s known in Windows 10 November Update Build 10586:

• After upgrading from one Windows 10 Insider Preview build to another Insider Preview build, Skype messages and contacts will disappear from the Messaging + Skype app. You can get Skype messages and contacts back by navigating to “C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Messaging_ 8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache” in File Explorer and deleting or renaming the “PrivateTransportId” file. After deleting or renaming that file, go to the Skype video app and sign out of Skype and sign back in.
• The Insider Hub might be gone after upgrading to this build. You can get Insider Hub back by going to Settings > System > Apps & features and clicking “Mange optional features”, choosing “Add a feature” and selecting Insider Hub.

The Windows 10 November Update Build 10586 download file size is about 3 GB. If you are already using Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10586, you need to do nothing. You are already using this new update.

If you are using Windows 10 RTM build 10240 which was released to public in July, just head to Start Menu -> Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates to check for new updates and it’ll automatically detect the new update and install to Windows 10 PC.

If you can’t get the new update in Windows 10 PC, just follow the step below:

1. Head to Microsoft official website and grab the media creation tool: microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
2. Navigate to MediaCreationTool.exe installation file and double-click it.
3. Once the installer has set up, you will be asked to either “Upgrade this PC now” or “Create installation media for another PC”. Then, just click Next for Upgrade this PC now.
   
   
4. The app now will download some files, process, check for updates and then check PC. Note: The process could take some time depending on internet connection.
5. Choose Accept for the license terms.
   
6. Next, the Windows 10 setup will pop-up ready to install screen. In here, choose install Windows 10 Home and Keep personal files and apps, then click Install button.
   
7. Now, the installer will install and update the files. Note: No files are erased, the installer just update the PC.
   
8. Once completed, reboot the PC and the PC will go through the Windows 10 OS setup (black screen).
9. Reboot again into your updated Windows 10, and now you should had no issues to update PC to latest November Update Build 10586.
