According to Microsoft Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group – Terry Myerson posted on the Blogging Windows website:
I also want to highlight a very cool offer from the Office team — if you upgrade to Windows 10 and have Office 2010 or earlier, you can get a 50% discount on a one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal through the pre-installed Get Office app.

With this special promotion, an Office 365 Personal subscription only cost just $35, compared to $399 for Office Professional 2016.

Subscription to Office 365 Personal allows users access to the Office desktop suite on PC and Mac, along with full editing capabilities on Office Mobile for tablet and phone (Windows Phone, Android, or iOS). In addition, users also can get 1TB of OneDrive online storage, 60 monthly Skype minutes, and access to latest Office applications, updates and features.

However, there is no official date how long the promotional will end, but it may coincide with the free Windows 10 upgrade offer which expires in July 2016.
