How To Play YouTube Videos In The Background On iPhone or iPad For iOS 7

YouTube is the largest online streaming service that you can watch on any devices, with music videos making up an estimated 42 percent of all videos played. However, the official YouTube app does not allow you to continue to keep playing video in the background especially in mobile devices, or at least listen to video.  The YouTube app or the YouTube website will pause the video itself.

How To Play YouTube Videos In The Background On iPhone or iPad For iOS 7

Here is the trick how to play YouTube video in the background on iPhone or iPad when you multitasking.

  1. Open the Safari browser on your iOS device and find any of your favorite video to play
  2. Now tap the Home button to go to the home screen, or swipe to switch to a different app
  3. The YouTube video will stopped playing
  4. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center (For iOS 6 below – double-press the home button and swipe the notifications bar from left to right)
  5. Press the Play button, YouTube video will resume playback and Youtube video will play in the background even while switch to any app on your iOS device

Note: If you are using an older model of iPhone or iPad that has not been upgraded to iOS 7, you can still use the step above to play YouTube video in background.
