Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book Latest New Firmware Updates

If you are using Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, here is a good news for you. Microsoft has released a new firmware updates for Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book to public which comes with bug fixes and improvements, including fixes for Intel drivers. This new system firmware update is purpose to solved most of the problems plaguing users such as the Windows Hello camera wouldn’t switch on prior to login, and screen sleep state turning permanent.

As per the change log according to Microsoft’s Surface software history page, the new drivers specifically noted as:

  • Surface Camera drivers set (v30.10586.7035.1976, driver date 4/21/2016) improves Windows Hello stability.
  • Intel(R) AVStream Camera 2500 driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Intel(R) Control Logic driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Intel(R) CSI2 Host Controller driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor 2500 driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Microsoft Camera Front driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Microsoft Camera Rear driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Microsoft IR Camera Front driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)

The new firmware updates are installed automatically on Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book through Windows Update.

To install updates manually, just go to Start Windows logo, select Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update. Next, select Check for updates, and then the firmware update will download and install to Surface. Once the updates have installed, you need to restart the Surface.
