Nikon Coolpix S220 Digital Camera Overview
Nikon Corporation has introduced the COOLPIX S220, a slim and compact digital camera with high performance imaging capabilities. It is equipped with 3x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens that provides excellent pictures and gets you close to the action. The new EXPEED Image Processor ensures high-quality pictures with stunning color and sharpness.
The Coolpix S220 is featured with Nikon’s Scene Auto Selector, an intelligent automation that eliminates the need to recognize the scene manually. This intelligent function enables the camera to analyze the subject and its surrounding conditions. The most appropriate scene mode will be automatically selected from the following six scene modes such as Portrait, Landscape, Night Portrait, Night Landscape, Close-up or Backlight to produce the best picture.
Nikon’s Smart Portrait System makes the subject’s face perfect when shooting. Its Smile Mode will detect the subject’s smile and release the shutter automatically. The S220 will also automatically detect and focus up to 12 faces in a group portrait with its Face-Priority AF function. Nikon offers the new Blink Proof function in Coolpix S220 that will automatically take two sequential shots and save the one which the subject’s eyes are open-wide. In-Camera Red-Eye Fix will automatically correct any perceived red-eye effect before saving the image to memory.
The Coolpix S220’s 4-Way VR Image Stabilization helps ensure sharper results.
- Nikon’s Electronic VR image stabilization compensates for the effects of camera shake by adjusting the shutter speed and the ISO setting.
- Motion Detection automatically controls shutter speed and adjusts the ISO setting to compensate for subject movement.
- High ISO up to 2000 capability helps give you sharper results when shooting in low light or capturing fast-moving subjects.
- Nikon’s original BSS (Best Shot Selector) automatically takes a series of sequential shots up to 10 shots and saves the sharpest image.
