Ultra-Compact Nikon COOLPIX S52 And S52c Digital Cameras

Following the announcement of COOLPIX P80, Nikon has announced the new additions to its (Style) S-series family – COOLPIX S52 and COOLPIX S52c, featuring a same 9.0 effective megapixels image sensor, high-contrast 3-inch LCD display, 3x Zoom-Nikkor lens with Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization, manual sensitivity settings up to ISO 3200 as well as Pictmotion function that allows users to combine their favorite movies, photos and create in-camera slide shows with music including songs uploaded from Apple iTunes.

According to the company, both of the camera are based on Nikon’s innovative EXPEED digital image processing system, which aimed to enhance noise reduction and improve the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio.

In addition, the stylish wave-design Nikon COOLPIX S52c differs from the standard COOLPIX S52 in its inclusion of integrated Wi-Fi support, enabling users to upload, categorize, manage and share photos directly from the camera to Nikon’s exclusive image storage and photo sharing website – my Picturetown.

“We are pleased to introduce the COOLPIX S52 and the S52c to our Style Series line of compact cameras, as they combine an elegant camera design with advanced imaging capabilities,” said Bill Giordano, General Manager, Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. “With the versatile COOLPIX S52 and its Wi-Fi enabled counterpart, the S52c, users will have the opportunity to take incredible pictures with exceptional detail and sharpness.”

The new Nikon COOLPIX S52 and S52c ultra-compact digital cameras will be available nationwide in coming May 2008 for about $250 and $280, respectively.
