Microsoft Offers 100GB of Free OneDrive Storage to Dropbox Users Worldwide, Here’s How To Grab It

Microsoft OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) is an online cloud storage service from Microsoft where integrates with Microsoft Office that allow users store, create and share Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in OneDrive from anywhere and work with others at the same time. OneDrive also offers Facebook integration, automatic camera roll backup, and the ability for users to email slide shows.

Normally, Microsoft OneDrive comes with 7GB of free storage and users can subscribe 50GB for $25, 100GB for $50, and 200GB for $100. Microsoft is now offering 100GB of free OneDrive cloud storage as a promotional offer for existing Dropbox users that use OneDrive. In addition, Microsoft also announced 100GB of free OneDrive storage for signing up to Bing Rewards program.

Microsoft OneDrive announced the news on Thursday via its official Twitter handle and said, “Drop the box – move your photos, music, and docs to #OneDrive and get 100 GB for one year free.” The tweet clearly took digs at Dropbox users and asked them to switch to OneDrive. Microsoft’s OneDrive bonus page includes a tagline that says, “A gift to current Dropbox users for installing OneDrive.”

In order to grab the free 100GB OneDrive storage for one year, existing Dropbox user just need to sign in to Dropbox account and allow Microsoft verify the Dropbox account by add a “Getting Started with OneDrive” PDF file to the user’s Dropbox folder. Once the PDF file successful added to the user’s Dropbox account, the page will redirect to confirmation page that reads, “Your bonus storage was successfully applied”! You now have an additional 100GB of storage for one year on your OneDrive account.
