Microsoft Releases MUI Language Packs for Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

The much awaited MUI language packs for Windows Vista with SP1 Ultimate and Enterprise editions have finally been released by Microsoft via Windows Update, Microsoft Update and WSUS. The release is targeted at Windows Vista SP1 Ultimate operating system platforms. So now users can download directly from Microsoft servers instead of download the unofficial 32-bit MUI language packs and 64-bit MUI language packs. MUIs for Windows Vista SP1 and RTM versions are different and cannot be used interchangeably.

Contrary to released schedule for Windows XP SP3 Build 5512 published on MSDN blog, Microsoft has published Windows XP SP3 standalone update installation package to MSDN and TechNet subscribers, as speculated. It’s not sure it’s a change of heart by Microsoft after compliant or it’s actual release timeline that not been made known. CoreConfigurator (Core Configurator) GUI Configuration Tool for Windows Server 2008 Server Core Free Download

Server Core of Windows Server 2008 is a new variation of installation which creates a minimalist operating system. Server Core is a significantly scaled-back installation where no Windows Explorer shell is installed, and uses relatively little disk space of roughly 1 GB. Server Core can improve security and easier to manage due to few files and features installed, but all configuration and maintenance is done entirely through command line interface windows, or by connecting to the machine remotely using Microsoft Management Console.

Download Availabilty of Windows XP SP3 for MSDN/TechNet Subscribers MAY Bring Forward Earlier

Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) has been announced to be released to manufacturing by Chris Keroack on TechNet forum. And Microsoft subsequently published a detailed Windows XP SP3 release schedule timeline by channel, which showing that availability of service pack download installer for privileged MSDN and TechNet subscribers is scheduled on May 2, 2008, later than general public release via Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center on April 29, 2008.
