It turns out that uninstalling chrome doesnt delete this afore mentioned folder and its contents (containing plugins). consequently, if you reinstall chrome you are left with the same problem. hth! i pulled many a hair out of my head trying to get flash to work with google chrome, but alas kept getting the nsis error
