Nah, it IS worth spending the money on BID as it works on sites where all the others fail. Plus it’s dead simple to use.
If you only ever download from galleries that link directly to the jpg image files then sure, use DownThemAll or whatever. But… if you’re trying to download images from sites that use javascript, php and all sorts of redirection tricks (like imagefap, usercash (bleh!) etc) then Bulk Image Downloader is your only choice.
