AMD Sets A New Milestone By Unveiling Its First Computer Brand

The second largest global microprocessors supplier after Intel Corporation, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), has established a new and significant milestone in the company’s history by introducing its first computer lately. This new AMD branded computer is designed to target particularly the small and medium-sized businesses after having studied, analyzed and incorporated the need of modern technology in business.

The venture of AMD into the computer production line is a necessary move for AMD to regain its competitive edge against Intel after having lost out to its rival in the microprocessor market for a few consecutive quarters. AMD foresees a significant consumer market which it can cater for in business computers.

Besides small and medium sized businesses, AMD has also designed competitive products to tackle big corporate clients. The demand market from these big corporations is huge. The desktops from AMD include AMD Phenom X3 triple-core and AMD Phenom X4 quad-core processors as well as AMD Athlon X2 dual-core processors.

Many AMD existing customers such as Acer, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Fujitsu-Siemens and Lenovo have expressed their interest to retail the AMD brand computer. AMD will make use of these PC dealers’ marketing networks to sell its business-oriented desktop computers. AMD’s next move in this industry is to unveil its notebook PCs in the second half of the year.
